Gluten & Dairy Free

What's we cookin' for Bastille Day tomorrow???? Looking for GF/DF French recipes you love. My fallback is ratatouille which I've made before. Considering a chocolate mousse.

Also I'll be with my MIL who can't have fish/seafood.

Hi! We are coming for FQF for 1st time since Covid! I can't wait! But, I'm gluten and dairy free, so I'm looking for help from locals. In the past, even with advance research I have had "incidents" that made our trip unpleasant. I will continue my ongoing research and share here what I learn about restaurants primarily in the Quarter, if you are interested. I don't see anything located in the Quarter on the main gluten free map. I usually start my search at gluten then work on dairy. Cow's milk is my worst issue. I'm lucky I've found that goat and sheep milks/cheeses don't impact me! Thanks in advance for any tips or advice you can offer!

You may want to make sure the “French Quarter” section of the map is checked (rather than unchecked) because there should be a ton! Click the map key, and scroll down.

That being said, Cuñada, Meals from the Heart and Cafe Cour are great options for GF/DF.

Northshore find-

Let Them Eat Cake by Casey took on my challenge for a strawberry cake with dairy free cream cheese icing! Perfect sweetness level and 4 of my dairy/gluten eating family members can't stop raving about it!

YUMMMM!!!!

Poll! What kind of dairy issues do you have? How did you find out? I'll share my story in the comments.

I’m new to lactose intolerance. The Lactaid pills seem to work, but I’m only buying dairy free products. I still eat small amounts of dairy cheese. It’s a new layer to manage after being gf for 10 years, but I’m figuring it out.
